What is Zocor?

Zocor goes by the generic name of Simvastatin and is a cholesterol-reducing drug that blocks the creation of cholesterol by the body. Zocor lowers the level of low-density lipoprotein as well as total blood cholesterol. It is prescribed to people at risk of heart attack, hardening of the arteries, stroke, and other vascular or cardiac diseases. Zocor may be utilized for other reasons.
